Awesome pics! Our favorite Cadillac Mt. hike is to go up the South Ridge trail, and at the summit, head towards Dorr Mt. to the A. Murray Young Trail, up Cannon Brook trail, where you get to climb waterfalls, and then meet back up with the South Ridge to head back down to the car at Route 3.

Beautiful photos! I visited Acadia when I was in Bar Harbor, but didn’t have time to hike up Cadillac Mountain. I was kicking myself then and I’m kicking myself now! Hope I can return soon to see a sunrise from the top.

Yes, Cadillac can be crowded during the summer, with the road to the top. Best time for solitude is to climb early or late, or off-peak. You’ve given us an idea for a blog post at http://www.acadiaonmymind.com, how to avoid the crowds while hiking in Acadia in the summer!
