Native American Charles F. Sams III Nominated as New National Park Service Director

The White House announced the intent to nominate Charles F. “Chuck” Sams III, a Native American, as the 19th director of the National Park Service. The nomination will now go to the U.S. Senate for consideration. If confirmed, he'd be the first Native American to serve as the head of the NPS.
