What Vermont and New Hampshire Look Like Right Now

In the past month I’ve been going on long drives in an attempt to see and photograph all of Vermont’s covered bridges. With two dozen down, I still have about 75 to go. I’ll get there though.

Fall is a spectacular season in Vermont and New Hampshire and I have another exploration drive planned for Friday. The white winter season’s supposed to be quite photogenic, too.

Amazing fall foliage in the White Mountains

Last Sunday Caroline and I went for a long hike in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. We checked off three 4,000-foot summits in one day: Little Haystack, Mount Lincoln and Mount Lafayette. Fall foliage was at its peak over there and I have dozens and dozens of great photos.

I’d like to share a few photos below to give you guys an impression of what it looks like over here in Thetford, on the border between Vermont and New Hampshire. Also, this is only a preview of blog posts that will be published in October.

There’s a lot more to come this month.

Besides experiencing all seasons in New England, I actually spend most of my time behind a desk writing travel articles and doing freelance translation work.

In addition, I am also still writing that book on my cycle adventure to the North Cape and back. The first draft is finished – that took a while – and I’m spending even more time working on the second.

There's no place in the world quite like New England if you want to see fall foliage; that's for sure!

I have always loved the New Hampshire/Vermont area and fall is by far the most beautiful season there! Great pictures!

Such beautiful photos Bram! I wrote about autumn in a blog post recently but didn't have an exquisite landscape of autumn such as that which you displayed: how wondrous a sight to behold! And I think it's cool that you are visiting all of Vermont's covered bridges...didn't realize that there were so many. ;) (And btw, I was originally born in a town in The Netherlands near Belgium.) ;) <3
