Traveling is an adventure. It could be through your own city or country, or it could be somewhere across the world; either way, the benefits are substantial, and they are incredible. You get to see beautiful places, see and smell new things, and make memories that will stay with you forever, right? The only problem with this notion is that memories don’t last. Instead, they fade and become distorted. That is why you need to turn your travels into the perfect keepsakes by doing the following.

Travel memories

1. Take Lots of Pictures (with Metadata)

The more information you can attach to your photos, the better. This can be done either manually once your trip is over (you can keep track by taking a screenshot of the name of the place you are going, and the date, or it can be done automatically if you have Internet). There are many countries that will allow you to purchase a pay as you go sim card for when you travel, all you need to do is a bit of research beforehand and ensure that your phone is unlocked.

The more effort you put into labelling and sorting your photos, then the easier it will be to find them and reminisce about specific moments. Rather than try to scroll through hundreds if not thousands of images, you’ll be able to revisit whenever you feel like it.

2. Think About Your Video

Videos are underused, but in many ways, they can be much better than photos. All you need to do is try to take videos of key moments, from tasting something for the first time to bungee jumping. This footage is your main footage, but to fill out your story, you should also take what is known as “B Roll”. B Roll in film are establishing shots that show where you are, the atmosphere, and allow you to fill out your main footage into a complete story. Doing this will allow you to edit together an incredible keepsake that you and your traveling companions can revisit over and over again.

3. Don’t Underestimate a Diary

Your diary is something that should never be forgotten on a trip. You can either buy a new notebook, or you can simply write it all down on our phone! Regardless, you need to document your trip in written form, because it’s the only way to remember what you’ve done on a day-to-day basis. On top of what you’ve done, you should also add how you felt, what things were most important to you, and more. The more you write, the better. So when you go off on a trip from any of these incredible Holy Land tour packages, you’ll have the best souvenir, a detailed diary. Try to do this at the end of every day, or whenever you have a moment to yourself. The fresher the memory is, the more detailed and useful it will be to you when you are reminiscing and recounting your adventures to your family.

Memories fade, whether it’s a benign day at work or an exciting “unforgettable” adventure. If you truly want to keep those memories, then you need to document them. The more information and care you put into creating these keepsakes, the better your keepsakes will be, and the more enjoyable it will be to go through and revisit your memories over and over again.
