Londolozi were the first people to set up in the Sabi Sands area of the Kruger, so we’re not surprised they boast some of the most luxurious properties in the area. Our favorite is the Granite Suites, which offer a modern and chic level of exclusivity that is hard to beat anywhere else.
2. Tswalu Kalahari
This luxury desert lodge provides a stark contrast to any luxury safari lodges you might visit and offers exquisite game viewing from the comfort of an ultra luxurious lodge.
3. Phinda Vlei Lodge
Phinda is the jewel in the crown when it comes to Kwa Zulu Natal safari lodges. Here you can game drive on this vast reserve before heading to the wild Indian Ocean coastline there. Of course the lodge is very comfortable and you immediately feel the wow factor upon walking in. The team of staff here are also among the best in South Africa and it definitely shows.
4. Marataba, Waterberg
Marataba Safari Lodge is the latest in addition to the luxurious Lion Sands lodges which are based in the Kruger. Again this luxury tented camp is set in a vast area of pristine wilderness, unrivaled anywhere else. The camp is homely and relaxed.
5. Makanyane, Madikwe
Makanyane in Madikwe is quirky and colorful and feels very joyous from the very moment you arrive. Madikwe is a unique area with red dust and a wonderfully remote feel. All the lodges in this post are in fact very luxurious, but Makanyane is definitely our favorite.

There are various luxorious lodges in Africa where we can have a bath outside of a wash tub and watch the animals going like elephants going in a group.

Bram, I love a safari, and some of those lodges look very decadent for sure. Love the idea of taking a bath and watching the elephants...yay!
